Victoria Island is one of the most exclusive and expensive areas to live in Lagos and Nigeria as a whole. The neighborhood is so well known that even the names of its streets have become iconic across the nation. This island is only one of Lagos’ districts that has the most unparalleled skyline. Victoria Island is one of Nigeria’s busiest centres of banking and commerce, with most major Nigerian and international corporations headquartered on the Island. The Island has continued to rapidly develop, which is a favorite spot for Nigerians and foreigners to live and chill.
Being one of the main business and financial hub of Lagos, the commercial capital of Nigeria, there is a high driving demand need for quality performance of mobile network coverage. This report is based on consumer experience in the LTE networks in Victoria Island during day time hours. The drive was conducted on the 10th of May 2019 between the hours of 11am to 5:10pm.

The five mobile wireless broadband service providers evaluated are MTN, Globacom, 9Mobile, Airtel and Smile. The performance of the radio access networks of each service provider along each evaluated route, in comparison with the other service providers, is rated, using the following KPI weights: Connection Drop rate, 25%; Connection Setup Failure rate, 0%; Downlink Throughput distribution, 25%; Peak Downlink Throughput, 35%; Latency, 15% and Non-LTE UE Technology 0%.
MTN stands head and shoulders above the rest with regard to packet latency. Airtel is the only other service provider with tolerable latency. Smile offers lowest throughput and highest connection drop rate.
